Fel rhan o'n dull Ysgolion Iach, mae pob dysgwr o'r Meithrin hyd at Flwyddyn 6 yn cael eu cefnogi i ddatblygu agweddau cadarnhaol tuag at fwyta'n iach, lles meddylion iachus a ffyrdd o fyw egnïol. Ar draws yr ysgol, mae mentrau fel 'Stroliwch a Roliwch' a'r traciwr teithio dyddiol yn hyrwyddo teithio egnïol, gan helpu plant i ddeall pwysigrwydd gweithgaredd corfforol dyddiol ar gyfer eu hiechyd a'u lles. Mae ymgyrchoedd ysgol gyfan fel ‘Ymunwch a’r Frwydr’ yn annog disgyblion i fwynhau ffrwythau a llysiau, tra bod prosiectau garddio a chyfleoedd i blannu a thyfu eu cynnyrch eu hunain yn cysylltu â Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg, gan ddyfnhau dealltwriaeth o ble mae bwyd yn dod a sut mae'n ein cynnal. Ym Maes Dysgu a Phrofi Iechyd a Lles, mae disgyblion yn cymryd rhan mewn sesiynau ioga, gweithgareddau ymwybyddiaeth ofalgar, ac egwyliau ymennydd rheolaidd i gefnogi'r corff a'r meddwl. Mae'r dulliau hyn wedi'u plethu i mewn i drefn ddyddiol o'r blynyddoedd cynnar, lle mae plant yn dechrau trwy archwilio arferion iach syml, hyd at yr ysgol uwchradd, lle mae disgyblion hŷn yn cymryd rhan mewn trafodaethau mwy cymhleth am ddietau cytbwys, dewisiadau bwyd cynaliadwy, ffitrwydd corfforol, ac effaith penderfyniadau ffordd o fyw ar iechyd hirdymor. Yn y Dyniaethau, mae disgyblion yn ystyried rôl bwyd a lles mewn cymdeithasau yn y gorffennol a'r presennol, tra yn y Celfyddydau Mynegiannol maent yn archwilio symudiad, rhythm a dawns fel math o ymarfer corff a hunanfynegiant. Gyda'i gilydd, mae'r profiadau hyn yn galluogi dysgwyr i weld byw'n iach nid fel un pwnc, ond fel ethos ysgol gyfan, gan eu grymuso i wneud dewisiadau gwybodus a datblygu arferion gydol oes sy'n cefnogi lles corfforol, emosiynol a chymdeithasol.

As part of our Healthy Schools approach, all learners from Nursery through to Year 6 are supported to develop positive attitudes towards healthy eating, healthy mindset and active lifestyles. Across the school, initiatives such as the Big Walk and Wheel and our daily travel tracker which promotes active travel, helping children to understand the importance of daily physical activity for their health and wellbeing. Whole-school campaigns like Eat Them to Defeat Them encourage pupils to enjoy fruit and vegetables, while gardening projects and opportunities to plant and grow their own produce link with Science and Technology, deepening understanding of where food comes from and how it sustains us. In the Health and Wellbeing Area of Learning and Experience, pupils participate in yoga sessions, mindfulness activities, and regular brain breaks to support both body and mind. These approaches are woven into daily routines from the early years, where children begin by exploring simple healthy habits, through to the upper school, where older pupils engage in more complex discussions about balanced diets, sustainable food choices, physical fitness, and the impact of lifestyle decisions on long-term health. In Humanities, pupils consider the role of food and wellbeing in societies past and present, while in Expressive Arts they explore movement, rhythm, and dance as a form of exercise and self-expression. Taken together, these experiences enable learners to see healthy living not as a single subject, but as a whole-school ethos, empowering them to make informed choices and develop lifelong habits that support physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.
