Thema tymor yr Hydref / Autum term theme

Ein llinell ymholi y tymor hwn yw: 

''Beth yw’r pwynt dysgu mathemateg?''

Yn ystod tymor yr Hydref, mi fyddwn yn archwilio’r cwestiwn mawr: Beth yw'r pwynt dysgu mathemateg? Drwy enghreifftiau o’r byd go iawn a gweithgareddau ymarferol, bydd y plant yn darganfod bod mathemateg o’n cwmpas ym mhobman — o siopa a chadw arian, i chwaraeon, mynd i'r siop trin gwallt, creu celf, a hyd yn oed adeiladu pethau! Wedi'u hysbrydoli gan eu cwestiynau eu hunain, byddwn yn ymchwilio syniadau fel: Sut gall mathemateg ein helpu i reoli arian? Ydy arlunwyr yn defnyddio mathemateg? Pam mae'n bwysig mesur cynhwysion yn gywir? Bydd ein dysgu’n ymarferol, yn hwyl, ac yn canolbwyntio ar ddangos pa mor ddefnyddiol ac ysbrydoledig yw mathemateg mewn bywyd bob dydd.

Our line of enquiry this term is: 

''What’s the point in learning maths?''

This term, we’re exploring the big question: What’s the point in learning maths? Through real-life examples and hands-on activities, the children will discover how maths is all around us — from shopping and saving money, to playing sports, visiting the hairdresser, creating art, and even building things! Inspired by their own questions, we’ll be investigating ideas like: How can maths help us manage money? Do artists use maths? Why is it important to measure ingredients accurately? Our learning will be practical, fun, and focused on showing just how useful and exciting maths can be in everyday life.

Thema tymor y Gwanwyn / Spring term theme

Ein llinell ymholi y tymor hwn yw: 

"Sut mae digwyddiadau'r gorffennol wed siapio ein bywydau heddiw?"

Byddwn yn canolbwyntio ar y Celtiaid a sut wnaeth eu ffordd o fyw, eu diwylliant a'u treftadaeth siapio Cymru heddiw. Drwy'r gwersi hyn, bydd y plant yn dysgu i fyn cwestiynau am y gorffennol, cymharu bywyd ddoe a heddiw, archwilio ffynonellau hanesyddol, ac esbonio sut mae'r digwyddiadau'r gorffennol yn dal i effeithio arnom ni heddiw. 

Erbyn diwedd yr ymholiad hwn, bydd y plant yn deal bod hanes yn chwarae rhan bwysig yn siapio pwy ydym ni heddiw. Rydyn ni eisiau iddynt fod yn chwilfrydig, yn feddylgar ac yn gallu gwneud cysylltiadau clir rhwng eu gorffennol a'r presennol, gan ddatblygu dealltwriaeth ddyfnach o'r byd o'u cwmpas. 

Our line of enquiry this term is: 

"How have the events of the past shaped our lives today?"

We will focus on the Celts and how their way of life, culture and heritage shaped Wales today. Through these lessons, the children will learn to ask questions about the past, compare life yesterday and today, examine historical sources, and explain how the events of the past still affect us today. 

By the end of this enquiry, the children will understand that history plays an important role in shaping who we are today. We want them to be curious, thoughtful and able to make clear connections between their past and present, developing a deeper understanding of the world around them.
